Nichiban Group will continue as a “Tsukurite” (Refers to a maker of products, new value, social bonds and consumer needs) and based on co-creation with the entire value chain to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through a broad range of business activities directed toward a future in which people live in harmony with nature

Code of conduct

Environmental management and governance

  • We will practice environment-oriented management, and strive to reduce environmental burden throughout the entire lifecycle of the business.
  • The Board of Directors will supervise the initiatives for environmental issues, including climate change.
  • We will regularly revise the environmental management system, and aim to make continuous improvements.
  • We will comply with environmental laws and local agreements, as well as international standards and norms (such as TCFD).
  • We will not provide funds to climate change deniers or lobby groups that oppose climate change related regulations.

Response to climate change

  • We will identify and evaluate the physical and transition risks climate change will have on our business, as well as the opportunities for technological innovation and product development.
  • We will set science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets and promote initiatives to achieve those targets.
  • We will aim to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions from business activities by 2050.
  • We will aim to use 100% renewable energy for the energy required for business activities.

Resource recycling and pollution prevention

  • We will aim to efficiently use resources and increase the ratio of waste material recycling.
  • We will promote the reduction and recycling of resources including plastic throughout the product lifecycle and contribute to realizing a recycling-based society.
  • We will strive to prevent environmental pollution, including to water sources and biodiversity, and ensure the proper management of chemical substances.

Co-creation with the value chain

  • We will promote healthy ecosystems and environmental preservation through co-creation with the entire value chain, including suppliers.

Information disclosure and communication

  • We will actively disclose transparent, objective environmental information.
  • We will thoroughly provide environmental education to employees and promote proactive planning of environmental preservation activities.
